Notes from the Official Scorer

Answers to a couple questions raised recently.

1 - Ball hits the Umpire: In baseball, when the ball is dead, no runners may advance beyond bases they are entitled to, and no runners may be put out. The ball becomes dead when:
...A fair ball touches an umpire before it has passed an infielder other than the pitcher.

2. Rule 10.09 -A Sacrifice fly does NOT count as an at bat only if a runner scores on the play.
