Westfield Advances to Semi-Finals of States

Westfield defeated Hazlet by a score of 7-3 to advance to the semi-final round of the state tournament (game recap to follow).

Westfield finished state tournament pool play with a 3-1 record with head-to-head victories against the other two playoff teams (Hazlet and Branchburg), but the tie was broken by runs against because Hazlet and Branchburg did not face each other in pool play.

Westfield (#3 seed) now plays Hazlet (#2 seed) on Friday at 5:45 PM in Mount Olive. The winner advances to face Branchburg (#1 seed) in the championship game.
